Overview — what the Trezor® Suite App does
The Trezor® Suite App is the official desktop client designed to manage cryptocurrencies with your Trezor® Hardware Wallet. It runs locally, connects to your device via Trezor Bridge, and serves as the interface for sending, receiving, portfolio tracking, and firmware updates — while the private keys never leave your hardware wallet.
Download & initial setup
Start at trezor.io/start to download the correct installer for your operating system. The recommended steps:
- Download Trezor Suite from the official site and run the installer.
- Install Trezor Bridge if prompted — Bridge is the background service that allows the Suite and device to communicate on desktop systems. See Trezor Bridge Download on trezor.io.
- Connect your Trezor® Hardware Wallet with a quality USB cable and follow the Suite prompts to initialize or restore from your recovery seed.
Common login & connection errors — quick fixes
If you run into Trezor login problems or get an Error Connecting Trezor Account, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Verify Trezor Bridge is installed and running. On Windows, check Services; on macOS, confirm the Bridge process is active.
- Use a different USB cable and port and avoid USB hubs. Replace suspect cables.
- Close other wallet apps or browser extensions that may claim the device.
- Restart the Suite, reboot your computer, and reconnect the device. Reinstall Bridge if necessary.
When you see “Unable to login Trezor” or “Trezor Login not working”
First, don’t panic — your funds are on the blockchain, not on the device. Troubleshoot connectivity and firmware: update the Suite and device firmware through the official interface. If the problem persists, export logs from the Suite and consult the Trezor Help Center for guided diagnostics.
Recovery & 2FA guidance
Trezor Account Recovery is performed using your recovery seed phrase (12–24 words). Keep it offline and secure. For third-party services using 2FA tied to a Trezor®-protected key, follow the service’s account recovery flow for a Trezor 2fa reset; Trezor does not centrally control external 2FA setups.
Troubleshooting checklist
- Confirm you downloaded the Suite from trezor.io/start.
- Reinstall Trezor Bridge and restart the computer.
- Try an alternative USB port or another computer to isolate the issue.
- Consult Trezor Help Center and open a support ticket if logs show errors.
